Simple Present

The simple present tense is going to be used to talk about actions that are carried out everyday as a kind of routines or daily activities therefore this grammar tense doesn’t have anything to do with the present progressive as many people think. As we know there are three different  ways to apply it: The affirmative the negative and the interrogative and each of these ways will have some specific applications and ways to conjugate the verbs.



Affirmative

Subject     +     Verb Conj     +     Complement


Examples

  • We go to our school every morning
  • Mary likes going to the gym in the afternoons
  • They work for the same enterprise
  • I understand everything in this class
  • John wants to be the best this year in the knowledge contest.

Negative Way

Subject     +     Don’t     +     Verb in infinitive     +     Complement
                                        Doesn’t


Examples

  • She doesn’t want to see him again near here
  • I don’t to fail this subject by any reason
  • They don’t miss to their job ever
  • It doesn’t snow in this area
  • We don’t swim on the sea because it’s dangerous


Interrogative Way
  
Do / Does     +     Subject     +     Verb in infinitive.    +     Complement ?


Examples

  • Do you like your career?
  • Yes, I do / No, I don’t
  • Does Cindy live near her workplace?
  • Yes,she does / No,She doesn’t
  • Why do you want to be an engineer?
  • Because I like working in the construction
